Scott's Emulsion
"Sailor Boy", another trade card for Scott' s Emulsion by Scott & Bowne.
The rational for the imagery is given as "This boy is as proud in catching this large fish as a man would be in conquering an empire".
Perhaps a similar pride is some of what we see in the faces of photographs of people holding up their catches.
